Student Food Insecurity Fund

The Student Food Insecurity Fund supports the CMU Pantry, an on-campus pantry committed to combating hunger among our students. Any and all students can attend the pantry, and find items not just for themselves, but for their families as well. The Pantry provides nutritious food, ready made meals and other necessities at no cost, and all students are encouraged to shop if they have need. With the support of the Pantry, CMU students enjoy a healthier, more balanced university experience. One student coordinator has said that her "favorite part of the [work] is meeting students, learning about their backgrounds, and hearing their reviews of unique Pantry items."

In the academic year 22-23, there were 4,777 visits to the CMU Pantry, serving 2,941 households. The Office of Student Leadership, Involvement, and Civic Engagement is planning to add spices, more produce, culturally relevant foods, frozen entrees, and more with the continued support of the CMU community. However, we can't do it alone. Your gift to the Student Food Insecurity Fund ensures that accessible nutrition is always in reach to help our students thrive!
