IDeATe

IDeATe is Carnegie Mellon’s hub for interdisciplinary collaboration between students of all majors, merging technology and arts expertise to advance research and creativity. Housed in a collaborative making facility in Hunt Library, IDeATe supports 10 interrelated undergraduate areas: Game Design, Animation & Special Effects, Media Design, Sonic Arts, Design for Learning, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Intelligent Environments, Physical Computing, Soft Technologies and Immersive Technologies in Arts & Culture. The curriculum is developed by faculty across 15 different academic departments and prioritizes hands-on learning.

Your gift to IDeATe supports course budgets and enables us to cover material costs of innovative student projects, develop profound interactive opportunities and set CMU apart as a unique facilitator of transformative interdisciplinary experiences.
