IDeATe

Digital and physical. Technology and art. Form and function. Carnegie Mellon stands apart as a facilitator of transformative interdisciplinary experiences.

Housed in a collaborative making facility in Hunt Library, CMU’s Integrative Design, Arts and Technology Network (IDeATe) supports 10 interrelated undergraduate areas: Game Design, Animation & Special Effects, Media Design, Sonic Arts, Design for Learning, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Intelligent Environments, Physical Computing, Soft Technologies, and Immersive Technologies in Arts & Culture. With your support, we elevate CMU’s innovative makerspace culture to advance education, research, and creative practice in new and exciting ways.

IDeATe embodies the very essence of Carnegie Mellon, merging unparalleled creativity and cutting-edge technology in a multi-discipline, project-based curriculum where the only limit is your imagination. Star faculty and expertise from across campus combine to offer students profound hands-on experiences they couldn’t find anywhere else.

Your gift to IDeATe goes directly toward the work happening in our labs and classrooms. It enables us to cover material costs of innovative projects, develop profound interactive opportunities and set CMU a part as a unique facilitator of transformative interdisciplinary experiences.
